Solar Protection Fabric Guide for the IMPERIAL ZIP Blind

Several opacity levels to suit your needs

Not sure which fabric model to choose? To help you with your selection, we offer different opacity levels suited to your needs and circumstances. Of French manufacture, all our fabric ranges are available in numerous colors and allow you to customize the amount of light based on their weave: open-weave, semi-open weave, or opaque.

The characteristics of the different models will determine both your comfort level and the desired atmosphere under your pergola.

The open-weave fabric

The open-weave fabric allows you to fully enjoy natural light while preserving visibility to the outside. The fabric then acts as a sun screen, maintaining optimal visual transparency both inside and outside.

The semi-open weave fabric

The semi-open fabric allows you to create a shaded corner with privacy without being seen from outside. Its micro-ventilation filters heat and allows diffused light to pass through without any glare.

The opaque fabric

The opaque fabric is ideal for spaces most sensitive to light. Thanks to the blind's lateral guide rails, no light transmission and no UV rays pass through for total blackout.

Regarding the choice of colors, it should be noted that, in general, dark fabrics absorb more heat but reduce glare. On the other hand, light-colored fabrics have the ability to reflect light while maintaining good light transmission.

Choosing a MERMET fabric

The MERMET Satiné 5500 fabric offers excellent protection against heat — up to 96% of solar energy is rejected!

Thanks to its diagonal satin weave, this fabric provides excellent glare control while optimizing natural light input with a clear view to the outside.

Made up of 42% fiberglass and 58% PVC, the Satiné 5500 range guarantees very high resistance to weathering as well as to discoloration caused by UV rays.

This fabric also features good mechanical resistance as well as high dimensional stability, ensuring optimal tension, in perfect compatibility with blinds fitted with lateral zip guide rails. Learn more>

Choosing a Serge FERRARI fabric

The Serge FERRARI Soltis fabrics offer a perfect balance between thermal protection and visual comfort. Made up of a polyester micro-cable framework and a bi-axial tension coating, these micro-perforated fabrics are highly resistant to tearing and deformation.

The Soltis Horizon 86 fabric provides genuine visual comfort towards the outside and benefits from an optimal level of natural light while limiting UV transmission. Learn more>

Acting as a true thermal barrier, the Soltis Perform 92 fabric limits up to 97% of heat. Micro-perforated and semi-open weave, it offers the best thermal performance as well as a very good compromise. Learn more>.

The Soltis Opaque B92 fabric guarantees total darkness, blocking 100% of UV rays. Featuring a dark inner layer, this range is the preferred choice if you wish to isolate yourself from the outside, heat, and light. Learn more>.

Choosing a DICKSON fabric

The DICKSON Sunworker fabric regulates light and heat and optimizes energy expenses in a sustainable development dynamic. Its Micro-Perforated Fabric at 300g/m² is made up of a ply of high-tenacity polyester threads.

The binding threads secure the plies while allowing them to move relative to each other for optimal distribution and absorption of mechanical energy in the event of a tear initiation.

Its fineness and lightness facilitate installation and reduce investment costs thanks to the use of less bulky housings, allowing savings on energy and lighting expenses. Learn more>

A smart fabric for optimal solar protection!

The Sunworker fabric, with a 6% openness factor, contributes to user well-being by offering optimal visual comfort for better glare control while maintaining excellent visual contact with the outside.

The Sunworker range has the highest resistance on the market thanks to its Rachel Trameur backing. Its specific coating process protects colors from UV and weathering, for maximum safety in indoor or outdoor use (fire classification, certification by approved official bodies).
