The structure of this wood carport is built from glulam timber to form a solid and highly resistant assembly. Furthermore, wood is a natural and warm material that blends perfectly into an outdoor environment. By choosing a wood carport, you will add a touch of charm and elegance to your home.

The EMSLAND Wood Carport is available either in a natural, untreated version to give you the freedom to protect the structure as you wish, or in a version that has received an autoclave treatment to resist insect attack, UV rays, rain, snow, and extreme temperatures.

A robust glulam timber structure

Untreated natural finish

If you opt for a natural and untreated EMSLAND Freestanding Wood Carport, you have the option to customize your carport as you see fit. You can, for example, apply a stain or a paint of your choice.

However, we strongly recommend carrying out an autoclave treatment beforehand. Indeed, this water-phase impregnation treatment acts as a powerful protector against the attack of wood-boring insects and termites, and is also effective and durable against the development of mould and fungi in damp conditions.

Autoclave stained finish

In its stained version, the EMSLAND Wood Carport has also undergone an autoclave treatment, followed by a stain and a high-end paint coat. As a result, its structure benefits from effective, UV-resistant protection against any bluing of the wood without concealing the aesthetics of its natural grain.

This also greatly limits the expansion and contraction of the material under the effect of weather variations. All profiles undergo a stain bath twice to develop optimal protective qualities, followed by brushing to remove any excess.

To keep your carport looking as good as new, we recommend applying a new autoclave treatment and restaining at the very end of summer, then every 4 or 5 years, to maintain the longevity of the wood of your car shelter.

Two types of roofing to suit your needs

The flat roof of the EMSLAND Freestanding Wood Carport is framed by a wooden fascia topped with an aluminium frame, with a gentle slope of 1.2°. It comes in two types of covering, each with its own characteristics and specifications to suit your needs.

The Aluminium Roof

The Aluminium Roof is made up of lacquered aluminium trapezoidal profiles in anthracite grey on the outside and light grey on the inside. It provides excellent protection against bad weather (hail, snow) and potential impacts (falling tree branches). In extreme heat, its solid surface shows great resistance to material deformation caused by high temperatures.

The Wood Roof with EPDM Membrane

Made up of 19mm thick wooden boards covered with a waterproof rubber membrane, the Wood Roof with EPDM Membrane offers superior acoustic insulation in heavy rain.

EPDM rubber has the advantage of being a highly resistant, durable, and waterproof material due to its elasticity. In addition to its sound-absorbing properties, this roofing covering can withstand extreme temperatures in periods of frost or heat waves.

EPDM membranes thus carry no risk of roof oxidation thanks to their perfect waterproofing and excellent UV protection. Easy to install, simply glue the pre-assembled roof using the adhesive specially provided for this purpose.

A solid anchoring system

The anchoring system of the EMSLAND Freestanding Wood Carport ensures a stable and solid fixing of the posts at your installation site. Its raised design is conceived to prevent any deterioration of the wood at its base caused by rainwater run-off or ground moisture.

It consists of H-shaped anchor profiles, made of flat galvanized steel with a length of 60cm.

They are secured by concrete anchoring in the foundations prepared in advance according to the configuration of your ground.

Thanks to this system, the EMSLAND Wood Carport is able to withstand winds of up to 0.95 kN/m².

Warranties

Our wood carports come with a 5-year warranty on the wood, the construction, and the structural stability, provided that assembly and maintenance are carried out as indicated in the documents from our partner factory.

The maximum snow load for this wood carport is between 1.05 and 1.25 kN/m², given that a snow load of 0.75 kN/m² is generally considered entirely satisfactory. For installations located in high mountain areas, we nonetheless recommend contacting your local authority for further information on this matter.
